The wine has different layers of fruit, including blackcurrant, cherry and plum as well as a pleasant spicy aroma. Pure fruit is backed up by the balanced oak influence. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eGood weight on the middle palate with a long lingering aftertaste of intense red berry aromas with hints of mocha and spice. The tannins are still young but soft and round, once again a perfect balance between fruit and oak. The wine shows excellent ageing potential. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eFood Pairing: Red meats and heartier vegetable pastas. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eBlend: Merlot 67% Pinotage 33% Vinification: Grapes are handpicked and sorted in the vineyards. The varietals were picked, vinified and matured separately for 10 months before blending, with a further 6 months of maturation before bottling. Minimal fining and interference before bottling to ensure protection of aromas.
